Aleami Piano Duo is one of the most versatile young Polish piano duos. The artists perform classical repertoire, contemporary music, and jazz-inspired works with equal commitment. Their collaboration is built on deep artistic understanding, mutual trust, and a shared passion for discovering the lesser-known corners of piano literature. The duo actively promotes Polish music as well as the works of the 20th and 21st centuries, combining precision with expressive depth in their interpretations.
The ensemble was founded in 2017 by Aleksandra Pazdyga-Chojnacka and Michał Chojnacki – graduates of the Academy of Music in Łódź, where they studied piano under Prof. Mariusz Drzewicki and Dr. hab. Tomasz Bartoszek. They are currently refining their ensemble performance skills at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków under the guidance of Prof. Bartłomiej Kominek.
In October 2024, the duo was selected for the prestigious “Piano-Piano Academy” in Paris, where they developed their artistry under the mentorship of renowned pedagogues including Elisabeth Leonskaja, Philippe Cassard, Gil Garburg, Arthur Ancelle, and Ludmila Berlinskaïa.
Aleami Piano Duo is a laureate of numerous international competitions – among others in Rome, Kraków, Naples, and Budapest. In 2023, the ensemble won First Prize and the Critics’ Award at the Concorso Pianistico Europeo “Don Enrico Smaldone”, and in 2024, they received a Special Prize for the Best Performance of a Sonata by W. A. Mozartat the 2nd International Piano Duo Competition “Duettissimo” in Kraków. Their interpretations are praised for exceptional sensitivity, musical imagination, and a fresh perspective on piano repertoire.
The duo’s repertoire spans from classical masterpieces to works of the 20th and 21st centuries. Their interpretations balance precision and expressivity, always rooted in the pursuit of truth and emotion. Their inspirations include not only Mozart and Ravel, but also Claude Bolling and Polish composers such as Witold Friemann, Józef Świder, Miłosz Magin, and Romuald Twardowski.
Aleami Piano Duo has performed in prestigious concert halls in Poland and abroad, including the Rachmaninov Conservatory in Paris, the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, the Grand Theatre in Łódź, the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice, and the Artur Malawski Philharmonic in Rzeszów.
