Aleami Piano Duo – one of the most versatile young Polish piano duos. The pianists enthusiastically explore music inspired by jazz as well as the classical repertoire. The duo was founded in 2017 by Aleksandra Pazdyga-Chojnacka and Michał Chojnacki. Both are graduates of the Academy of Music in Łódź and are currently honing their ensemble skills at the Academy of Music in Kraków under the guidance of Professor Bartłomiej Kominek. Starting in October 2024, the duo has been participating in the prestigious “Piano-Piano Academy” program in Paris, developing their artistry under the mentorship of distinguished teachers such as Elisabeth Leonskaja, Philippe Cassard, Gil Garburg, Arthur Ancelle, and Ludmila Berlinskaïa.
The duo has been recognized with numerous awards at chamber music competitions, including: First Prize in the piano duo category and Second Prize in the four-hands category at the 31st Roma International Piano Competition, First Prize at the 7th Danubia Talents International Competition, First Prize in the piano duo category at the “KraCamera 2023” competition, First Prize in the piano duo category, a special award for the performance of a contemporary piece, and the critics’ award at the 13th Concorso Pianistico Europeo Premio Speciale „Don Enrico Smaldone,” and a special award for the best performance of W.A. Mozart’s Sonata during the 2nd International Piano Duo Competition “Duettissimo” in Kraków.
Additionally, the members of Aleami Piano Duo were semifinalists at the 3rd International Competition of Polish Music, where they gave the world premiere of Witold Friemann’s Concerto for Two Independent Pianos, Op. 226.
Aleami Piano Duo maintains an active concert schedule, performing in Poland, Italy, Israel, France, and at music festivals such as Duettissimo and Musica Moderna.
